Waiting to find out the gender of Baby M was seriously so hard! The anticipation was literally killing me and I just wanted to know!!!
We are so happy the Big Reveal finally happened yesterday!
It was a small gathering with just close friends & family and we are so happy with how everything turned out, including finally finding out the gender of Baby M.
Señor or Señorita?
I’ll include several pictures of all the little details including some action shots of our big reveal!
Theme, Decor, and everything in between!
I went with a fiesta themed gender reveal and the big questions was “Señor or Señorita?.”
There was bright colors in all the little details and we wanted everything to resemble as if you were in Mexico having a fiesta! This theme was easy to execute because my mom already has so many props, decorations, and authentic serving platters.
The tables we dressed them up with bright colored overlays and just simple white linens. My mom already had all of this including the chair covers because my parents throw parties all the time! The center pieces were simple; mini runner serapes, mini sombreros, two small succulents in terra pots, and a daisy plant in the middle. The daisy plants I purchased at Lowe’s, all four plants for only $20 bucks. The succulents were free since I already had a plant that my dog Chase kept digging up. The props for the center pieces were purchased in DTLA.
The wooden backdrop was provided by Bonnie Bee Crafts and we decorated it with huge bright paper flowers (also by Bonnie Bee Crafts), a serape, and big gold balloons that said Baby!
Yummy Treats snacks, & Food
The dessert table had a two-tiered cake with bright flowers on it to match the theme and I bought a custom cake-topper on Etsy, that said “Señor or Señorita .” You can find the vendor I used, HERE! The shipping was super fast I loved it!
We also had matching cupcakes, conchitas, mosaic jello, and some beautiful custom sugar cookies made by Cookies By Tammy. You can email Tammy for your custom orders at tammyrey@me.com.
Now I love me some Mexican candy so of course I had to have an entire spread of some of my favorites. We went to DTLA and bought all of the candy. This is really based on preference and you can pick what you like most!
We also had some churritos you know the ones the corn guy has? Well we had limes and valentina ready as well!
I am a huge fan of fresh fruit with lime, tajin. salt, and even chamoy. So of course we had to fresh watermelon, cucumbers, mango, and melon.
OK now on to the food!!!
The food is honestly what my family would normally make at any fiesta because I’m Mexican so my mom had this covered!!
We had some tacos dorados, which are fried tacos. You put a tomato based sauce, along with some freshly grated cabbage, and of course chile for those that like it spicy!
Of course we had tacos because what is a fiesta without tacos!!
And my mom made Pozole as well. Again, a traditional Mexican dish that I guess is like a soup? I’m not sure how to described it but it has hominy, pork meat, and it’s just plain delicious!
The Big Reveal
On Thursday before the reveal on Sunday I went to get an ultra sound. I gave the envelope to one of my friends and she separated the poppers for us!
We had ordered about 12 confetti poppers in both colors about a month in advance! I can link the website, HERE. I knew I didn’t want to risk it so we just did both colors.
When it was time for the Big Reveal we had all of our family & friends meet us on a grass area in the front yard. We stood in the middle and we had them stand in two lines, one for those that voted girl and one for those that voted boy. We passed out all 12 of the poppers and counted down from 10!
As my family counted down I was so nervous and I even started to cry before the poppers went off. There was so much emotion I just couldn’t control myself!!
The confetti poppers finally went off and it was a….GIRL!!
I was jumping and screaming “it’s a girl it’s a girl.” If you didn’t know, my husband thought it was a girl the whole time. He had a dream and ever since then he was so adamant. I wasn’t so sure but I honestly thought it was going to be Boy.
My family and friends celebrated, hugged, cried and there was so much love in the air.
It was honestly the most magical moment I’ve ever felt and so happy to finally know that we are having a girl!
Baby Emma we love you so much and cant wait to finally meet you in a couple of months!
Thank you to all of our family, friends, and most importantly god for blessing us with a our little GIRL!
It’s been real.
xoxo,
