Top 20 Baby Products

December 10, 2019 Comments Off on Top 20 Baby Products

I outline my Top 20 baby products, why I like them, when I started using them, and if I still use them now!

I know sometimes we think we need to buy everything before baby gets here but realistically there are items you don’t need right away! There are also items on this list that are preferential to each parent and seriously all babies are different! These items we use/used daily or have made our lives just a little bit easier.

Mostly everything can be purchased on Amazon with prime shipping and only a couple of items are exclusively Target items!

You can click on any picture and shop directly through the link. I will get a very small commission if you purchase something so thank you in advance!

1. Halo Bassinet

We used the bassinet every single day since she came home from the hospital. The bassinet was used for night time sleep and was very convenient to have her right next to me! I loved the swivel capabilities and also love the vibrating pad. Emma is now 11 weeks and we started to transition her to the crib in her nursery because she kept ending on the mesh sides!

USE:0-10 WEEKS

2. Delta Children Crib

Although many people don’t use the crib right away, we definitely did! We liked putting her down for some naps when she was just a couple weeks old. We started using the crib every single day starting at week 5. Emma takes all of her daytime naps in it and is now sleeping in her crib overnight!

3.Nipple Shield

Now the nipple shield has been an absolute life saver! I started using it to breastfeed in the hospital and it has really made my breastfeeding experience such a positive one! I knew I was going to have to use one because I have flat nipples which makes latching sort of difficult! I like the Medela one because its super thin & flexible! I am able to feed her without it sometimes but I always have it just in case!

4. Baby Shusher

I know you think buying a machine to “SHUSH” seems ridiculous but trust me it works. I didn’t have one for the first couple of days and I swear my mouth was so dry from shushing so much. I finally gave in and ordered one…thank god for Amazon Prime! It has a volume setting as well as a timer so you can leave it near the baby and leave it playing while they nap. Also if you didn’t know “SHUSH-ing” is part of the 5 S’s to calm a crying baby!

USE:0-5 Weeks

5.Hatch Baby

We have two of these and we love them! One in our room and one in the nursery. It’s perfect to play white noise and a perfect night light for those night time feedings/changes. Hatch baby also has an app so you can control the sound and light from your phone!

6.Huge Burp Cloths

These burp cloths are seriously the best because they’re so huge & absorbent! I know they aren’t cute or have any designs but trust me you’ll love them because they will protect your clothes LOL.

7.Halo Velcro Swaddles

Now if you can swaddle with a normal muslin blanket then more power to you but if you can’t like me…these are perfect for YOU! Literally takes the guesswork and allows you to do a super tight swaddle! You can also transition to hands out swaddle as well when they start rolling! We tried so many but this one helped her sleep the most!

8.ROHM Portable Sound Machine

We got this one as a gift and its perfect for the car seat or on stroller rides to keep Emma calm. I always have it with me when we go out and we love it! We also used it when she was little for daytime naps when we would set her in the pack & play.

USE:0-4 Weeks (only use it now when we go out and she’s napping in car seat or stroller)

9.Mamaroo

At first Emma hated the Mamaroo and we were so scared like its essspensive!! We would try to put her in it and she literally wouldn’t last more than 5 minutes tops. Sometimes within seconds she would be crying!! Anyways at around 5 weeks I started to use it after every feeding and eventually she started getting used it. Now she likes it but we have to put her in there when she’s fed or calm. We’re so glad she likes it now and feel like we got our money’s worth!

USE: 5 weeks-Now

10.Footed Zipper Pajamas with mitted cuffs

Trust me when I say that you need the easiest outfits to take on and off when they’re so little! Zipper PJ’s make it easy for diaper changes and love that you don’t need to worry about socks or mittens. Emma literally lived in these type of PJ’s for the like the 1st month! Now shes in 0-3 months clothes and there’s not as many designs that come with the mitten cuffs as well.

USE: 0-7 WEEKS

11.Diaper Caddy

I ordered this caddy and got it all set up before Emma was even born! We literally use it everyday and love it! We fill it with diapers, wipes, burp cloths, bibs, extra clothes if she needs to be changed, and anything else we need. At the beginning we were taking it from our living room to our bedroom but as she got older we just kept it in our bedroom. It’s great for middle of the night feedings so you don’t have to go to the nursery!

12.Portable changing Pad

We have three portable changing pads and use them all the time! We have one for our bedroom to lay down on the bed, one in the nursery to lay on top of the changing pad, and one for our diaper bag. Also a little life hack: lay down a muslin blanket on the changing pad so when the baby pees in the middle of changing her diaper it doesn’t get all over her, the blanket soaks it all up! So in the middle of typing this Emma woke up and that exact thing happened LOL.

13.Frida Cradle Cap System

I love this little 3 step method because it’s fast, easy, and gentle! This will help get rid of cradle cap right away! I still use the soft sponge to wash her hair though!

Use:0-2 weeks (only used full system when she had cradle cap)

14. Bath Tub Thermometer

Now this was helpful in avoiding fights with Cesar LOL. Is the water too hot is it too cold?! Well I bought this because he would obsess over the temperature. Well he is in full control of it now and uses this thermometer to keep adjusting the water.

USE:3 weeks-Now

15.Boppy Lounger

This is a great lounger to lay baby in when she’s awake and calm. Lately I’ve put her in it when I’m doing my makeup and she’ll last a good 15-20 minutes! She didn’t really like it as a baby but we sure tried to put her in it LOL.

16.Evenflo Breast Pump

I got this pump from a friend and when I looked up the pricing I thought it was extremely affordable compared to other pumps! I think it works great and it’s not too complicated to clean once you get the hang of it. It comes with a traveling case, extra bottles to store milk and an insulated bag as well!

USE:6 weeks-Now

17.Nano Bebe Bottles

I was gifted these bottles and was so excited to try these out! I’m so glad Emma loves them and we didn’t have to hunt for another bottle! I love the unique design and also love the breast milk storage bags it comes with as well!

USE:6 weeks-Now

18.Bottle Sterilizer

I was gifted this for my baby shower and it really is so easier than boiling water in a huge pot! It’s fast, easy, and convenient!

USE:6 weeks-Now

19.Butt Spatula

At some point your baby may have a diaper rash and those creams/ointments can get all over the place! This butt spatula is amazing because you don’t get it all of over your hands and it helps you spread that ointment all of over their little booty! It also has a little suction so it can stick to your dresser in between diaper changes!

USE: 2 weeks-Now

20. Gas Drops & Gripe Water

When babies are little they are learning how to use their pelvic muscles still so using the restroom is sometimes a really hard task for them! We started to use gas drops and felt like it really helped Emma! Gripe water we liked to use when she had the hiccups and it also helped with gas. Now that Emma is older we no longer use these on a daily basis and only we needed.

USE: 2 weeks-Now ( only when needed)

Well guys I hope you enjoyed this list of top 20 baby products! I wanted to include the items we actually use all the time and feel like this is helpful for anyone thinking of having a baby!
