Many people told me that I wasn’t going to need a nursery, that Emma was going to always be in our room, and some may even say it’s a waste!
Well I think it’s truly dependent on each person and how functional you make the room. I knew I wanted to get the most use out of her nursery and wanted it to be a beautiful space as well. We literally use her room every single day and I don’t think I would have if it wasn’t so organized! She is also now sleeping in her nursery over night now which I didn’t think was going to happen until maybe about 6 months!
When I first started to design her nursery I went on Pinterest and created an entire board of Nursery Inspiration! This really gave me an idea of the style I wanted to go for. Once I narrowed that down I took a list of everything we already had that could be used in her nursery. After that I started scouting online for the things I wanted to buy.
We gave ourselves a goal to start decorating her room after the baby shower. Before the baby shower I worked on emptying & cleaning out the room! We bought things little by little and by 35 weeks is when I actually started to put the room together! Emma came at 38 weeks so we finished the room right on time!
I went for a Boho modern chic inspired room and I’m so happy with the way it turned out! Picture and links below !!
ALL THE DETAILS
Wooden Name: Her name came out beautiful and really completes the room! I was gifted this sign from @dearheartsigns and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with them!! Please support your local small businesses! You can check out her Etsy shop HERE
Crib: Her white crib is from Delta Children and was also gifted! It was super easy to put together and she uses her crib EVERY single day! We love and it looks perfect in her crib!
Peony Wall Decals: These decals are seriously the best! Super easy to put on and love the quality! We taped it up first to see the placement before we put them on permanently! We got two sets one for both walls which really brings the room to life!
Grey Recliner: I love this recliner because its super comfortable! I use it everyday when rocking Emma to sleep!
Bookshelves: So these are actually spice racks from IKEA but they look really cute as shelves too! They’re only $5 and I love the natural wooden finish!
White Basket: I found a similar basket from Target but I got mine at Home goods! Target has several over similar baskets and I used this one to store her blankets. I actually have several rope baskets for organization!
White & Pink Rug: I searched everywhere for a pretty rug that would not only fit the room but wasn’t super expensive! I loved the details of this rug and thought it fit perfectly! It’s a super soft rug and the design protrudes out. I will say that it get dirty rather quick but we try not to walk with shoes since we lay her down for tummy time here! Also it’s not a true white and looks more like a creme color on person!
White & Pink Embroidered Pillows: Both of these pillow are definitely for decor and not in the crib when Emma is sleeping. I use them when I’m in the recliner either feeding her or putting her to sleep for support. Both of these pillows I found at Target but you can also find good options at Homegoods or TJMaxx!
White Dresser: I linked a similar dresser as I could not find this exact one! We purchased this dresser about 2 years ago and we got it from Living Spaces! This is not specifically for a nursery and it’s big enough that we were able to place a changing pad on top as well!
White & Wooden Floating Shelves: These selves I got at IKEA as well and you buy the white shelf and the wooden part separately. They have different sizes depending on space and what you want to put on them!
Boho Mirror: I wanted a cute mirror but also didn’t want to break the bank! This one is small, cute, and super affordable! I love it and I got it from Amazon.
Wicker Baskets: I got all the wicker baskets from homegoods and they fit perfectly with the room! I use them for stuffed animals, blankets, diapers, and as a hamper! I linked a similar one if ordering online! Your best bet is to go in person to the store!
Wooden Changed Pad: This changing pad tray is perfect if you already have a dresser! You just place the changing pad in the tray and it dresses it up a little bit!
All of the other details you see are either gifted or just small things I bought from several different stores like Target, Marshals, TJ Maxx Hobby Lobby, and Home goods!
Thank you for stopping by and please let me know if you have any questions about Emma’s Nursery!
It’s been real.
