We’re Pregnant!

I have been thinking for a very long time how I wanted to announce when I would finally get pregnant and I never thought it would be like the video we made! Cesar and I both came up with the idea, TOGETHER! It starts as a normal look book, something I would do as a blogger, and then Cesar shows up! Of course the ending solidifies that it is indeed a pregnancy announcement!

Cesar and I are so excited to get started on this journey of Parenthood. Sometimes I feel like I’m dreaming because I’ve literally thought about this moment for years! For years I would think about when I would get pregnant and how we would be as parents. Well now I can say we are truly blessed to finally being on this new adventure!!

Now let’s get into some important questions that I know y’all are dying to know!

Was this pregnancy planned?

Yes, very much so. We knew when we wanted to start trying but just kept it to ourselves. We didn’t think it would happen so fast so we were still very surprised if that makes sense!

Our family/friends kept bugging us all the time too. We just played it off and kept saying different responses “maybe 1 or 2 years, within the next 5 years.” Anything really just to throw them off.

We didn’t want people to know we were trying just in case we had trouble getting pregnant. I did not want to deal with the constant asking “Are you pregnant yet?”

When did you find out?

I found out on Wednesday February 6th, 2019. I took a couple tests all by myself because I wanted to be able to tell Cesar in a special way.

Did you know you were pregnant besides taking a pregnancy test?

I had all the normal symptoms of getting my period. I didn’t feel any different than any other month. It did feel like my boobs were bigger than usual, which they usually feel bigger around my period. But like this time it did feel like they were extra big LOL. The only reason why I took a test was because I was late and I knew I should have started.

How did you feel when you found out?

Honestly, I couldn’t believe that I was. I just kept looking at myself in the mirror, “OMG I’m pregnant,” and of course smiling from ear to ear. I also couldn’t wait to tell Cesar and the excitement was killing me that night!

When did Cesar know you were pregnant?

I told him the very next day Thursday, February 7th, 2019 when he got home from work! I did do a vlog style video that kind of documents that whole day. As of right now I wasn’t able to upload the video because the file is way too large, very disappointing!

How did Cesar react?

He was very shocked. Yup, that about sums it up LOL. I had lied to him and told him I started my period to throw him off. So his response was “We just gotta try again.”

When he came home I had a small present waiting for him. It was a onesie that said “I love Mom & Dad?” When he opened it he just kept asking “Are you serious?” He asked that a couple of times and then recalled that I told him I had started my period. So he’s like , “So you lied?”

He then proceeded to try and figure out the exact night that it happened LOL.

So yeah his reaction was funny and totally not what I expected LOL!

When/How did you tell your parents?

We told both of my parents on my birthday February 20th. We told my parents at dinner which their reaction was priceless. We had planned that Cesar was going to have me open up his gift before dinner. I would be so excited about what it was and then show my parents.

I first opened the card and Cesar actually surprised me with Justin Timberlake tickets. I didn’t know that so I freaked out before we got to the good part LOL. Then I opened the next gift which was a jewelry box but we took the bracelet out.

We had put a picture of the ultra sound in the box that said ” Hola Abuelitos!” I looked at it first then said “wow you have to see this!”My parents looked at it forever and I’m like can they not see the picture?!My mom finally said , “Estas embarazada???” Translation: Are you pregnant?Both my parents were in full blown tears and then my entire family hugged us in celebration.

After dinner we headed to his parents house and gave them a gift too. Cesar lied and said it marketing materials for his business. He showed it to his dad first and he was like “Wow these are really good.” He then showed it to my mother-in-law and she’s like “really? you are?” His other siblings were around so they were like “She is what?” LOL We did the same thing with his older siblings since they were not all there at the same time.

How many weeks are you/ How are you feeling?

I’m 12 weeks so I am at the very end of my 1st trimester.

At the very beginning I was feeling queezy and nauseous all day but nothing crazy. I was still going about my day and it was pretty manageable. My boobs started to feel very sore every morning and they were/are getting bigger. This was hard to hide in some photos because they were just out there. So I would try and pick different poses that weren’t too exposing LOL.

Recently, this past week I do feel like nausea has kicked up a notch. I am not throwing up but I do find myself gagging more. I try to still go about my day and do normal things. Staying busy was helping me at first and now even when I’m busy I still feel it, just try to ignore it.

I’m like burping all the time, I always feel like I don’t fully digest the food, and sometimes I’m hungry but don’t want anything to eat LOL. I think if you’ve been pregnant than you know what I mean.

I am thankful that I am able to rest and take it easy when I can. Also I try and be positive and think it could be worse, right? LOL

Are you craving anything?

I am not craving anything new that I didn’t like already. It’s been hard to eat with how I’m feeling so the easiest thing to eat is definitely carbs!

Have you been working out?

Yes, here & there. I do about 20 minutes incline on the treadmill along with low weight body weight movements at home. At the beginning I was doing this more and as I feel good I do it.

The plan was to do 5 days a week but I’ve been happy with at least being active about 3 days. It honestly just depends how I’m feeling and my energy levels.

When will you find out the gender of the baby?

We plan on finding out sometime from 16-20 weeks. It’s not for sure as my parents are out of town when I am 20 weeks. I do plan on having a small gender reveal party so we will have to move it earlier.

I plan on using a place that does a blood test vs. a 3d ultrasound place. If I can manage to get an appointment in earlier with the doctor than I will do that!

This will happen around mid May!
