My traveling makeup essentials!

· Lets be real...we all own tons of makeup and for some reason we think we need to take everything with us! ·

I am so excited that I will be going to Dallas this weekend to visit my family and celebrate my husbands birthday! So I decided to put together a list of all the makeup that I travel with along with some of my favorite brands! I try to keep it very limited because I usually bring way too much clothes so I need the extra room for outfits I'm never going to wear. A girl always needs options, right??

Take a look at my traveling makeup essentials that I’m going to bring with me on my trip!

Scroll all the way down for a description on each item and why I love the product!

Please note: When you click on an item below and purchase the item, I will receive a small commission.

1. Mario Facial Spray

-I mention this product in my routine for flawless makeup so of course I am going to bring it on the trip (linked below for reference). I do have the large bottle and I do not like to travel with such a big bottle so I tend to opt for this on the go kit. It comes with this magical drying potion that does wonders if I were to get any pimples on the trip! You always have to be prepared!

My Routine for Flawless Makeup

2. Clinique Moisturizer

-My all time favorite moisturizer! It is rather large but I don’t mind bringing it with me because it doesn’t take up that much space.

3. Murad Oil Control Mattifier

-Of course I cannot forget this to fight my oily skin! This was also in my routine for flawless makeup!

4. NYX Pore Killer

-Very inexpensive primer that I LOVE! I tried it once and I have not gone back to any other primers!

5. Beauty Blender

-I only use the original beauty blender because I have tried other brands and it just doesn’t work for me. I know it’s expensive for 1 sponge but it really does make you makeup look so much better. I recently saw a new way to clean your beauty blender circulating on Instagram so I am definitely going to try that tonight. You put your beauty blender in a mason jar with soapy water and put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds or so. After it comes out looking super clean which prevents you from having to buy a brand new one so quickly. I’ve also tried to use foundation brushes but it just leaves my foundation looking so streaky. I use the beauty blender to put on my foundation, blend in my concealer, and bake under my eyes/contour.

6. Estee Lauder Foundation

-This foundation has been my ride or die for about 1 year now! Before Estee Lauder I used  Laura Mercier, Makeup forever, and Too Face Born This Way. I have also tried Huda Beauty Foundation and Fenty Beauty which I only wore a handful of times to test it out. I have to say that Estee Lauder does not move or budge on my skin, creates a flawless buildable coverage, and keeps me matte. When Huda Beauty came out with their new foundation I thought I had to try it because it sounded perfect for me. Huda Beauty separated so much on my skin and I would turn into an oily mess LOL so back to Estee Lauder it is! If you have not tried it, I highly recommend!

7.Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

-Guys, if you are not using shape tape right now, what are you doing with your life? OK just kidding but seriously I love this stuff and a little goes a long way! This is not an item you are not going to have to buy often as it lasts forever! I use this in a triangle under my eyes, bridge of my nose, and center of my forehead between eyebrows. I also use this as a primer for my eyelids before I put on any eye shadow.

8. Too Face Etheral Setting Powder

-I know you must be wondering why I don’t use Laura Mercier setting powder, right?? OK maybe you were not but the Laura Mercier is also very popular and a very good setting powder. One day I ran out of my Laura Mercier powder and I had no time to go to Sephora. I went to Macy’s and I got the Too Face powder on a whim, hoping for the best. Well not only did it work just fine, I loved it! The powder is finely milled and is a perfect translucent powder!

9. Tarte Blush

-Blush really goes a long way and I’ve had my Tarte blush for a very long time. My blush is a light pink matte color and I use it on the apples of my cheeks. I can’t see what color it is because I’ve had it for quite some time!

10 & 11. Morphe Palettes

-I love my Morphe palettes and they are so affordable compared to others on the market. I usually only take two with me even though I have more. Technically I only need one but again a girl needs options. These palettes are also flat so I put them at the very bottom of my makeup bag and they do not take up that much room.

12 & 13. Makeup Brushes

-I  own mostly Morphe brushes that I use regularly because they are so inexpensive. I  bring 5 eyeshadow brushes (the two pictured,  a flat packing brush, a thin smudger, and a short rounded brush for inner eye highlight), blush pointed blender brush (not pictured), fluffy round brush for translucent powder (not pictured),  and a contour brush (old MAC brush). The total number of brushes I am going to bring is 8 which is pretty reasonable since I have about 25 LOL.

15. Benefit Precisely my Brow

-I love this thin one because I love to create feather like strokes.  I already have thick eyebrows with dark hair so this tip is perfect for that! I also feel like this one does last me a bit longer than the Anastasia Beverly Hills one!

16. Eyelash Glue

I use the Ardell Duo Lash Glue that has a small brush. The brush makes it easier to put on the eyelashes and I also like the clear one. I am not good at putting on eyelashes so when I use the one that dries black I tend to ruin my eye shadow somehow.

17. Fake eyelashes

-Some of my favorite eyelashes are the Ardell Demi Whispies 120. I like these because they are natural yet still look long and flirty. These are very inexpensive and I can just throw them away after I’m done using them on the trip.

18. Stila Black Eyeliner

I recently bought the micro felt tip and I really like it. I’ve been using Stila eyeliner for a very long time. I try other ones and I always end up back with Stila. It’s perfect for those awful at doing eyeliner like me.

17. Morphe Contour Palette

-This item is not pictured but it has 9 medium size pans and was only $15 I believe. I was originally going to purchase the Tarte Park Ave Contour palette but the price difference was huge for basically the exact same thing!

18 & 19. Eyelash Curler & Mary Kay Mascara

-I always curl my eyelashes and put mascara on before I put my fake eye lashes on. I have been using the Mary Kay Mascara for such a long time and it works great for me. I have tried so many mascaras in search for a good one but it never does the trick. I linked the mascara I use below from amazon. I buy mine from my neighbor that sells Mary Kay but if you don’t know anyone, you can buy it online.

20. My Makeup Bag

-I have an Estee Lauder Bag that I received when I purchased a gift set and it is perfect! It literally fits all of my makeup and I don’t have to worry about several small bags to fit everything. I found the exact same one I have on amazon. Linked Below!

I hope this list of items was useful and it definitely helped me out so I don’t forget anything when I pack tomorrow! I know we get tempted to bring every piece of makeup that we own but when you are traveling, the less you have to carry the better. I have been on trips before and I bring like 5 eyeshadow palettes and I NEVER use all of them LOL.

Thank you for reading and stopping by!

It’s been real!

XOXO,
