Many have asked if I've always loved Winnie the Pooh but the truth is it was more of a recent love! I'll tell you all about how we picked the theme, all the details concerning our baby shower, and of course tons of pictures!
Now before I go into all the details of our classic winnie the pooh baby shower I wanted to give you a small background story because I promise it makes everything make sense.

Before we got pregnant we went to St. Lucia in December for our late wedding anniversary trip. Long story short we had some issues at the airport with our flights so they upgraded us up to first class for the second leg of the trip. It was such an amazing experience and they were playing the movie Christopher Robin. Cesar and I were crying watching this movie on the plane and it was seriously a great movie with so many life lessons. If you haven’t watched it, regardless if you have kids or not, go watch it!
Anyway, come February when I found out I was pregnant and I started scrolling through pinterest I saw a classic Winnie the Pooh themed 1st party for a baby boy. I instantly fell in love just thinking about the movie but I felt like if I was having a girl it just wouldn’t work. Once we found out I was having a girl we decided we were going to make it work anyway and put a girl spin on it!
So here are all the details to our classic winnie the pooh baby shower!
Our theme:
Once we finalized our winnie the pooh theme I started searching on pinterest like crazy to get inspiration.
I created a whole secret board on pinterest where I saved pins regarding the treat table, the background, balloon arch, detailed sugar cookies, signage, invitations, games for the shower, guest favors, center pieces, and just all around venue decor.
I took bits and pieces of several different parties and it helped give me direction on every aspect of executing my shower!
The execution:
Many people asked if I was throwing the shower myself or if someone was hosting it for me. The truth is I am quite a perfectionist and once I have a vision I want to make sure it comes to life. I consulted with friends/my mom for some of the details but I basically created the blue print and planned every part of my shower.
My parents allowed me to have the shower at their home which is ideal for large parties and the day of I had help from my mom, dad, little brother, one of my close friends, and of course my HUSBAND. He was a trooper and I’m so thankful for all of his help through out the entire process!
All of the details!
Entrance:
The entrance consisted of this welcome sign with classic winnie the pooh art, along with a table dedicated to the diaper raffle as well as all of the gifts.
I got all of my templates from ETSY from this shop because wanted to make sure everything matched from beginning to end so this shop made it so easy for me! It was very easy to customize all the templates and I printed most things at home. The big welcome sign I printed at a local print shop for only $10!
The pallet was something I felt like went with the theme so I used it for decoration. My Bro in law got some from his old job for free, Cesar painted it with white paint, and I hung printed pictures with twine along with this pretty Eucalyptus garland.
I got the garland from Amazon and ordered several to use for decoration. You can find the exact garland I ordered HERE!
My mom made me this cute diaper cake which was perfect for the diaper raffle station.
Of course we had to have Emma’s ultrasound at the shower in the cutest frame I was gifted.
We also had a station for “Advice for parents,” “Dear Baby form”, and a stack of pink envelopes for people to put their addresses for the thank you cards!
We also had a basket filled with fans which came in clutch because it was so incredibly hot!
Centerpieces:
The centerpieces came together nicely and we bought everything from several different stores.
The Flower & Garden pot, the small glass vase, and the small honey container (not fully captured here but you can see the top of it), were all purchased at Daiso. They have tons of cute glassware and accessories at really cheap prices!
The round placements were purchased from Big lots and was a more cost effective alternative than buying wooden stumps for all of the tables.
I actually found a local party shop that I could have rented them from for a really cheap price but now I know for next time!
The fake hydrangea bulbs were purchased from Amazon and you can get the same package HERE! The other fake flowers my mom bought them from Joanne’s.
I also purchased a pack of white frames from Amazon that you can find HERE!
For the quotes I basically got all the winnie the pooh art & classic quotes online and created my own templates on the Over app. I just printed all the quotes from my home printer on regular paper and put them in these white frames!
Party Favors
Now these were my absolute favorite and I decided I wanted to do small little honey pots for my guests to take home! I made plenty so we could place them wherever needed!
I got the hexagon jars from Amazon and you can find them HERE! My mom got the fabric and the small little wooden honey spooley things (I have no idea what they’re called) from Mexico! I secured the square fabric pieces with really small rubber bands and then tied the tag on with some twine! I tagged the Etsy shop above if you want to get the Thank you tag template!
Dessert Table
I feel like the dessert table is one of the central pieces to any party. It pulls everything else together and it’s really a focal point. In many cases this can be used as your backdrop for photo ops which we definitely did!
I love the balloon garland and we did shades of pale pink, white, and pale yellows. The eucalyptus garland was from Amazon and is linked above!
If you are interested in booking Popstudio for your very own customized balloon garland, you can click HERE to find them on Instagram!
The banner I made on the Over app and got it printed at a local print shop for $80! I looked up other banners on pinterest and used that to make my own. It didn’t take me very long and saved me some money. My dad built a stand out of PVC pipe instead of me having to buy one online!
The banner read, “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in our hearts.”
We also added the “Oh baby” balloons which I bought from Walmart and you can get those balloons HERE!
My mom bought the wooden letters for “Emma,” but I’m not really sure where and they were painted with acrylic paint.
We also got terra cotta pots and terra cotta cantaritos and painted them to make them look like honey pots.
The custom sugar cookies were absolutely adorable and perfect! I got these ordered from Wanderlust Bake Shop and you can check out her Instagram profile HERE! They were so spot on and if you look the link you can see how talented Vivian is!
My favorite is the open book that says, “We have a new friend coming,” Like how adorable is that?!
The cake and the cupcakes were from Simply Irresistible Cakes and you can find them on Instagram HERE!
I chose to do a really simple design for both the cake and desserts. I bought the flower wafers to decorate the cake at Walmart and you can find them HERE! The little bees for the cupcakes are also edible and I bought them from Amazon HERE!
The cake topper is in gold glitter and says, “We already love you.” I bought it from Etsy and you can find the shop HERE!
The flower arrangements I ordered them from Vons and surprisingly they were not too expensive. I went the day before and handpicked all of my flowers and brought my own matching vases that I bought from the 99 cent store!
Bump Updates
I decorated another smaller pallet with all of the bump updates I had taken throughout my pregnancy journey.
We also included pictures from the gender reveal and pictures from our baby moon.
I used twine and mini clothespin to hang all of the pictures.
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT
Our shower was amazing and we are so blessed! A huge shout out to our family and friends for really showering us with love!
A tip in planning your own party is to make sure you delegate as much as possible. Start your to-do list early and try to do all the DIY things as far in advance as possible.
Create a checklist of what you need to do the day before as well as the day of. This will help you make sure you don’t forget anything!
Also if you are on a budget try to find alternative ways to do things to save you some money. Obviously making anything on your own, like the treats, decorations, or your own party favors.
As usual if you have any other questions about my baby shower, please feel free to reach out me!
It’s been real.
xoxo,
